Vizag Steel To Submit Fresh Proposal For Captive Port

The new proposal envisages construction of a break-water and a jetty.

We are finalising the proposal and hope to discuss it with the state government soon. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant can develop the port as a private party with the Andhra Pradesh government committed to developing new ports in the private sector, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant chairman and managing director Jitendra Mehra told Business Standard.

Mehra said the setting up of the port could be dovetailed into the state governments plan of developing Gangavaram and Muthyalammapalem as an integrated port south of the Visakhapatnam port.

Mehra said its original proposal to have a jetty for captive use
