Four Soft Limited (4S), an enterprise solutions company, plans to establish a technology centre in Pune. The centre is likely to start functioning from August 1, 2006.
 
4S develops software products and provides IT consultancy services for the logistics and supply chain management marketplace. According to a press release, the technology centre will work on the company's core products using the leading J2EE methodologies.
 
The company is venturing into multi-site software development, the integration and delivery of which will be done from Hyderabad.
 
4S plans to hire 200-300 professionals by the year-end across the globe. Its present headcount is around 675. The Pune centre is likely to have an initial capacity of 50 people.
 
Srikanth Palem, chief executive officer and managing director of Four Soft, said, "Availability of skilled quality resources is one of the major reasons to open a technology centre in a strategic location like Pune."
 
According to Kalyan Gangavarapu, chief operating officer of Four Soft, the company is also looking at opening technology centres in other global locations.
