Airtel is partnering with Bangalore-based start-up Asklaila to power city-specific search to cover 30 million users in six cities of the country. Cities which the partnership will cover include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bangalore.

The ‘Airtel city search’ will enable Airtel customers to get up-to-date information about their city free of cost through Asklaila’s city information database, Asklaila said in a statement on Thursday.

The service will be available across three screens - Airtel’s mobile and broadband services and Airtel DTH — and within the mobile service, across four modes - SMS, USSD, WP and Airtel Live.

“This partnership will enable user phones across price ranges — from an entry level Rs 2,000 handset to a high-end, feature rich Rs 35,000 mobile phone.

The user will have the freedom to select an appropriate mode based on need and context,” the statement said.
