In his previous role, Karandeep Singh was heading the Indian arm of IT services and solutions provider Sapient with global revenues of over $1 billion. Now, this gold medalist in commerce from Delhi University is CFO of India’s leading e-commerce company, Flipkart.

Bangalore-based Flipkart is aiming to cross $100 million in revenues in the current fiscal and co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal aim to hit that $1 billion mark in just 2 to 3 years. This means a lot of work for Singh who has to bring in a lot of financial discipline, planning and corporate governance measures. Good thing that he also brings with him some valuable expertise from time spent at leading Indian and global companies like Dell, Moser Baer, Ariba, Yum and Sapient.

“As you know Internet is a big disruptive element. Rather than sitting outside and see how the business model is getting disrupted, I wanted to be part of the disruption, at the centre of it,” says Singh, who plans to relocate to Bangalore soon from Gurgaon. And once he is all settled in Bangalore, he can pursue his other great interest: golf. “Any time if good to play golf,” he says.
