Industry veteran heads communications outfit

Companies are always looking to drive their businesses using the latest communication and collaboration tools. These communication tools improve efficiency, customer service competitiveness and other related things, but companies need channel partners to implement it for them. Enter Avaya, a provider of enterprise communications systems and services which has brought in Rajeev Mittal as its new managing director.

Earlier, Mittal was with Microsoft India, as general manager, small and mid-market solutions and partners (SMS&P) and was responsible for expanding its business in the mid-market segment, along with managing the partner Eco Systems. Prior to that, he worked in senior positions for companies including Oracle, IBM and Wipro Technologies in leadership roles spanning functions like channel, marketing, alliances and business development in India and APAC. He has close to 25 years of experience from the technology and telecom sector and will take up responsibility for driving business growth across all business segments “Avaya has a strong solutions innovation and services history and there are tremendous opportunities ahead for the company in India. With Avaya’s growing sales presence, strong network of channel partners, and substantial research and a development focus in India, I look forward to delivering to existing and new customers the latest in communication and collaboration solutions to drive their business successfully,” says Mittal.

He has done his masters in Marketing from Banaras Hindu University after completing his bachelor degree in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and is based out of Delhi.
