BSNL slashes price of 3G data card

The state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has slashed the price of 3G data card in a bid to rope in more customers.

“The price of the 3G data card has been reduced from Rs 3800 to Rs 2500. This will help us to rope in more customers interested in high speed internet connection”, Balaram Pal, General Manager (mobile), Orissa circle, said.

Introduced as a promotional scheme, it would remain in force for 2 months. The speed of internet connection would be one GB during the day time and 5 GB during the night with the download speed being up to 2 MB. The customers would be allowed 6 GB download free of cost.

The company would sell recharge vouchers of different denominations starting from Rs 275 up to Rs 2499. The offer will be applicable both for the pre-paid and post paid subscribers, the official added.

It may be noted, with a view to enhance the customer’s delight, BSNL has already introduced Blackberry services in the pre-paid segment, which is available under three plans namely life plan, social plan and regular plan.

The tariff for life plan is Rs 298 per month while the tariff for social plan is Rs 299. The tariff for the regular plan has been fixed at Rs 991 per month.

Any customer having a blackberry handset can avail the blackberry services just by recharging through a recharge voucher from BSNL’s C-TOPUP platform. This voucher would have a validity of 30 days.

To enhance the utility of the 3G platform further, the state owned company has also introduced Personal Computer (PC) to mobile and mobile to PC video call service.
