"The new PCs have been packaged with features such as expanded connectivity options, wide screen displays, high portability and versatility to help customers," said Ivan Kam, Associate Director, Business Development, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific.
He contended that the Fujitsu LifeBook U1010 (3.5 G) was the world's smallest convertible ultra mobile personal computer. "Weighing only 0.63 kg, the machine, enabled with mobile broadband, serves a palm sized connectivity to travellers and trend-setting urban consumers in transit," he added.
Kam said the $43.2 billion Japanese company is focusing on India for growth. The PC industry in India is one of the fastest growing markets. The first half of the year (according to Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology) registered a growth of 11 per cent.
The annual sales are expected to be more than 7 million units, with mobile computing devices accounting for more than 50 per cent of it.
