Lower selling, general and administration (SG&A) expenses and better overall performance helped India’s largest BPO, Genpact, post a 106 per cent increase in its net income at $33.63 million (Rs 158 crore) for the third quarter ended 30 September, 2008, compared to $16.32 million (Rs 76 crore) in the corresponding quarter last year.
Net revenues at $270.8 million (Rs 1272 crore) were up 26.1 per cent, compared to $214.7 million (Rs 1,009 crore) in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, the net income was up 35.6 per cent from $24.8 million (Rs 116 crore) in the quarter ended June 30, 2008. For the same time period, net revenues were up 6.8 per cent from $253.5 million (Rs 1,191 crore) posted in the trailing quarter.
