iGate to double Canada team

Close on the heels of its Japanese expansion, integrated technology and operations (iTOPS) company iGATE Global Solutions has announced plans to expand aggressively in Canada.
 
iGATE, which currently has over 250 employees servicing the Canada market expects to double this headcount in 2006.
 
Commenting on the significance of the Canadian market, Srinjay Sengupta, chief sales officer, iGATE said, "Canada is a rapidly growing market for iGATE. We have seen a lot of traction around our consulting, IT and finance and accounting (F&A) outsourcing services."
 
Jason Trussell, associate VP - Canada, iGATE said, "iGATE has invested heavily in flagship deals with a number of Canadian clients, including major technology investments, to ensure that it aligns with its clients' strategic plans and business objectives."
 
On the validation of his pioneering iTOPS model, Phaneesh Murthy, CEO, iGATE said, " iGATE's iTOPS model has been well received in the Canadian market. We are in active discussions with a number of global corporations on iTOPS related initiatives in the BFSI space. With iTOPS gaining acceptance in the market place, we are confident of significantly expanding our presence in Canada over the next 12 months."
 
iGATE has a global employee strength of over 4,200 people and it ended Q2FY06 with revenues of Rs. 155.77 crore.
