The company has plans to start training facilities in Panchkula (Haryana) and Kolkata.
The technical education arm, called KMG Education, will provide training in the areas of AS/400 (iSeries), Java, .Net, Testing and Personality Development. After completing the training, KMG will employ students from its trained batches as well as assist in their industrial placements with software companies with which it has alliances.
Initially, the Panchkula facility will take 40 students, while the Kolkata facility will have 30. The training will initially be delivered from its training centre in Panchkula, starting in July. Later the training facility located in Panchkula will be shifted to Mohali (Punjab), where the company is coming up with a 500-seater software development and research centre with an investment of Rs 15 crore.
The proposed facility is expected to be ready by February 2009. The company has plans to increase the intake capacity from 40 to about 200 students at the Mohali facility after its commencement.
Further, the Mohali facility is followed by a 600-seater offshore centre at the Chandigarh Technology Park (Chandigarh), which would be dedicated to software development and for high-end KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) facilities.
The new centre at Chandigarh will be operational by December 2009 and will attract an investment of Rs 20 crore.
According to a spokesperson of the company, the training courses have been designed using sound educational principles and industrial requirements.
The courses focus not only on the technical aspect but also on the personality development of individuals including the soft skills to make them competent to take on the corporate world. Further, the key differentiator of this training program being equal emphasis on both the technical and professional skill sets.
The training is available in both public and corporate training formats with the duration of the course ranging from three to six months. Students can chose from a full time to a part time course as per their individual requirements.
For training the resources, the same techniques will be used as required at KMG's development centers. It is expected that the training programs shorten the learning curve of the participants on various technologies, which is both time consuming and complex.
Having served its global clients successfully since the last 20 years, KMG operates out of India (Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Kolkata) and US (New York and San Diego).
