IT firm NE Technologies (India) is set to open a hi-end telecommunications optical network equipment development and testing facility in the city.
Vish Emani, vice-president and chief operating officer of the company, said the facility, with a floor space of 20,000 sqft, is built to accommodate 150 resource personnel.
"This is our second state-of-the-art R&D facility in India (the first one was established in Goa in 2005). It is being set up with an investment of Rs 25 crore," Emani told media persons today.
The new facility of the firm, Indian subsidiary of US-based NE Technologies Inc, will be inaugurated on August 23.
It will be used for augmenting development, testing and delivery teams for clients in North America, Europe and NE Technologies Inc and its subsidiaries worldwide, Emani said.
The company's customers include top telecom firms like AT&T, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hitachi, Bell South, Tekelec, Lucent Technologies and Ciena, he said.
