With social networking giant Facebook-owned Oculus launching 360-degree video reactions for the Gear VR headset, it is now possible for users to "like" a video while watching it.

"Now, while watching Facebook videos using Samsung's VR goggles, you will be able to choose between the social network's standard series of reactions, including the "like" or one of the five new emoji "Reactions". When viewing 360-degree videos, you'll also be able to see others' reactions float by on the screen as well," technology website The Verge reported.

The "Reactions" were supposed to be rolled out in March in VR when the company first began letting Gear VR users sign into their Facebook accounts on the VR headset to get a personalised feed of stories.

In May, Facebook acquired Edinburgh-based company Two Big Ears that specialises in spatial 3D audio in cinematic and gaming experiences.

Facebook will make the Two Big Ears' "3Dception" technology free for developers as part of their new "Facebook 360 Spatial Workshop".

Both the Gear VR and Rift support the immersive audio technology and the fact that Facebook is opening up Two Big Ears' 3Dception technology for free to developers is a nice move to keep content creators happy.

The social network has substantially expanded its British team of engineers and developer relations staff after acquiring Oculus for $2 billion in 2014.
