Opera refreshes its Mini browser for Android

Opera has has revamped its Mini mobile browser for Android users. Opera's USP is its browsers compresses data to save on data costs. Now, the Mini will provide two compression modes —  high and extreme. 

Earlier, Opera Mini users had to contend with layout changes on web pages while using compression. While browsing was fast, the browser used extreme compression, seriously affecting the layout of the page — even over 3G or Wi-Fi. But,  with the high compression mode, users can have it all. In high speed 3G or wi-fi networks, one can select high-compression mode and enjoy the browsing experience with high definition videos and dynamic sites like Facebook. 

“With the rise of better smartphones and better network conditions our users now want the option to have a less aggressive data compression mode so they can experience the full internet when network conditions allow for it,” said Christian Uribe, product manager of Opera Mini on the new technology.
