In a bid to post higher growth landmarks during the current year, PIT Solutions, the Technopark-based software solutions and services company, has strengthened its partnership with BS MediaVision AG of Switzerland.

BS MediaVision has entered into a long-term contract with PIT Solutions to outsource its software development work in this regard.

A meet between top officials of both the companies discussed various modes of collaboration recently in Switzerland, aimed at providing a boost to the company's attempt to accelerate the current growth pace.

Speaking to Business Standard, chief executive Rafeek K Mohammed said: "The Swiss company has formed a pact with PIT Solutions wherein the work on software development will be effected at our Thiruvananthapuram facility. We will be developing BS MediaVision software for the Swiss telecom major Swisscom on a long-term basis."

BS MediaVision AG is a software and multimedia solutions company which focuses on conception, organisation and conversion of high-standing products for the new media.

Talking on the financials involved in the partnership, Mohammed said, "This being a long-term contract, the billing would be on a monthly basis. BS MedaVision will be paying the Indian company based on the work done on a monthly basis."

The billing would be to the tune of $30,000 per month, he added. While PIT Solutions would be dealing with BS MediaVision, the latter would deal directly with Swisscom, Mohammed added.

On the expansion plans of the company in Kerala, the chief executive said PIT Solutions had charted out plans to go in for a further spread soon.

The company, which operates out of its facility on the Technopark campus at present, plans to acquire more space either in Technopark or outside the campus.

"As there are space constraints in the Technopark at the moment, we are thinking of expanding to an additional facility out of Technopark," he said.

At present, the company employs 40 software developers at its facility here and plans to add 10 more by the end of 2007. "By the end of 2008, we expect the number to go up to 80," he said.

The company, which has offices in Switzerland and Dubai, recently opened a 100 per cent subsidiary in the US. The software for its other European clients is developed at its Dubai facility.

PIT Solutions, which was formed in collaboration with the Switzerland-based Zieglertex Group of Companies in 2000, has its strategic facility in central Europe and leverages the offshore base in India. The company at present designs, develops and supports solutions for businesses in Europe and the US.

It provides solutions from strategy consulting to customised solutions in web technologies, enterprise solutions and embedded systems.

Its clientele includes predominantly small to medium-sized companies and has found partners in Raptus AG, Forest Design Studio, apart from BS MediaVision.
