SafeScrypt Certifying Authority Services, a subsidiary of Sify Communications Ltd, has announced its 'MCACert' range of digital signature certificates for small, medium and large companies to electronically file data using the MCA-21 portal, the flagship e-governance project of the ministry of company affairs.

The MCA-21 portal will provide a single-window interface to all entities (public and private companies) dealing with the ministry of company affairs. Corporations, professionals and public will be able to interact with the ministry online using the MCA-21 portal from home or facilitation centres, instead of having to visit the Registrar of Company offices.

The portal facilitates the electronic filing of all statutory compliances and subsequent transactions online using a digital signature certificate obtained from a licensed certifying authority like SafeScrypt, a company release said.

Rahul Swarup, managing director, Sify Communications, said the MCA-21 portal would be a boon to companies, professionals and officials who interact with the ministry. "To enable the easy adoption of the portal, SafeScrypt has designed a range of easy-to-use services for the requirements of various types of users. We have created solutions for both large and small organisations," he added.

SafeScrypt, a part of Sify Communications, is a VeriSign affiliate for the Indian subcontinent offering digital signature certificates to end-users as well as managed PKI (public key infrastructure) services to enterprises. SafeScrypt is India's first licensed certifying authority under the IT Act 2000.

SafeScrypt, in association with VeriSign, has set up an infrastructure for certifying authority services in Chennai and a disaster recovery centre in Bangalore. It also offers end-to-end data security solutions addressing domains like PKI, cryptography, data protection and privacy, transaction security and secure messaging, among others.
