After winning the Rs 140 crore deal of setting up state wide area network (SWAN) for the Maharashtra government, Spanco Telesystems and Solutions is close to winning the Common Services Centres (CSCs) contract worth Rs 200 crore.

As per the contract, the company will have to set up close to 2,100 retail service shops, wherein business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-customer (B2C) services will be offered to the people. If the company gets the deal, it will roll out the operations in the next 18 months.

The total contract period for the project is for five years. When contacted the company, Ravi Bhatnagar, vice-president, business development, Spanco Telesystems and Solutions, said, "We have bid for the project but we are waiting for the details."

The company is expecting business worth Rs 750-800 crore annually from this sector. Spanco's government operations are divided two major geographies"" west-south and north-east. From both these divisions, the company expects to garner Rs 350-400 crore each annually. From Maharashtra alone, it's aiming revenues of about Rs 150-200 crore annually.

As larger and newer players entering the segment, Spanco is getting more aggressive.
