Sun Microsystems India and city-based RV Group of educational institutions have collaborated to set up a very large scale integration (VLSI) design centre at the RV Institute of Management campus here. Sun Microsystems, which has provided the hardware, has invested approximately Rs 4 crore on the centre. | |

| According to RV-VLSI Design Centre CEO Venkatesh Prasad, their primary mission "is to impart industry-centric advanced programmes in VLSI to the vast available talent pool in India, creating a steady stream of professionals who are qualified to join the workforce as effective design team members in semiconductor industries." |
