To focus on automotive & construction verticals in ERP mkt.

Sundaram Infotech Solutions Ltd (SIS), the IT arm of Sundaram Finance, has announced its foray into the Australian market with an initial focus on automotive and construction verticals in the ERP (enterprise resource planning) market.

While the company has opened an office in Melbourne, it will look at forging marketing partnerships to target the Sydney and Brisbane ERP and IT services market.

The company will also target mid-sized companies with its software service offerings in platforms like .Net, Java and similar web technologies.

In addition, it intends to explore opportunities in the ERP training space in Australia, according to a company statement.

"We are a preferred ERP implementation partner for Microsoft. This expansion into Australia is on the back of our recent successes in Jordan and Saudi Arabia, where Microsoft endorsed our ERP capabilities by choosing us for their ERP expansion into those countries. We believe similar opportunities exist in the Australian market as well," J Raghunathan, vice-president (marketing), Sundaram Infotech, said.

The Sundaram Finance Group has already established a presence in Australia over the last 2-3 years through its BPO arm Sundaram Business Services (SBS).

SIS, which focuses primarily on the financial services and manufacturing verticals, has a 50,000-sft software development facility in Chennai.
