HIL commences operations at Wada unit
The company had stopped production from the site due to sluggish demand
HIL Limited, a flagship company of the C.K. Birla Group of Companies, has informed BSE that it has restarted operations at its sheeting manufacturing unit at Wada, Thane (Maharashtra), from December 20, 2013. On October 15, 2013, the company had announced the discontinuation of production at the site due to sluggish demand in western market.
According to HIL’s website, the Wada facility manufactures asbestos cement sheets & accessories, and has a capacity of 1,20,000 MT.
