Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has announced that its under construction polypropylene (PP) unit project is expected to go on stream later this year. “We expect polypropylene plant to commission in FY15 as the overall progress of polypropylene project has reached 96.30% as on June 15, 2014,” said a Kotak Securities report. MRPL has invested more than Rs 131 billion on the expansion project.
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals has also announced plans to expand crude processing capacity by 40% to 420,000 barrels a day by end-March 2018.
