"In the last 24 hours, 24 people, including 12 newborns, died in a government hospital in Nanded. These deaths are certainly not coincidences. Each of these deaths needs to be thoroughly investigated. If there are so many deaths in one day, it is expected that the Chief Minister and the system will order an immediate inquiry considering its seriousness," said Sule.

JNU to set up committee to look into repeated incidents of 'anti-national' slogans on campus

The Jawaharlal Nehru University administration will constitute a committee soon to look into the repeated incidents of 'anti-national' slogans raised on campus, an official said here on Monday.
 
It comes a day after pictures of slogans like "Indian-Occupied Kashmir", "Free Kashmir", and "Bhagwa Jalega" scribbled on the School of Languages building wall went viral on social media.
 
The walls have now been repainted by the administration.
 
"We are waiting for a report from our chief security officer and based on its suggestions, steps will be taken to deal with the issue," JNU Rector Satish Chandra Garkoti told PTI.

Indian Navy's First Training Squadron warships reach Malaysia

As part of the Indian Navy's long-range deployment in South East Asia, the ships of First Training Squadron (1TS) -INS Tir, INS Sujata, and ICGS Sarathi are on a visit to Port Klang, Malaysia from September 30 to October 23, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Monday.
 
During the visit, the activities being undertaken by the crew of 1TS include various professional and community interactions, training exchanges, cross-deck visits and sports fixtures with personnel of the Royal Malaysian Navy, as well as ships, open for visit of school children, the ministry said.
 
The deployment of 1 TS is aimed at exposing the trainees to the sociopolitical, military and maritime linkages of India with the friendly countries in the Indian Ocean Region and strengthening bilateral engagements between the two Navies, it added.
