A total of 172 cases of Covid-19 were eported in Maharashtra today, as per the data shared by the Public Health Department.
As per the data, the State recorded a total of 10 cases of COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 till today, with the highest number of infections reported from Thane Municipal Corporation.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to launch a North East Industrial Policy to give a fresh impetus to the efforts of Assam and other states in the region that have been witnessing rapid economic growth.
The request was made when Sarma met Goyal in New Delhi on Friday.

A total of 20 "cyber criminals" were arrested in Jharkhand's Giridih district, a police officer said on Saturday. They were apprehended from different places of Jamua block, he said.
Two cars and four bikes have been recovered from the cyber criminals, besides Rs 1.38 lakh in cash, Giridih SP Deepak Kumar Sharma said. The group used to dupe people through various online methods, police said.

Karnataka on Saturday reported 201 fresh cases of Covid-19 and one new coronavirus-related death in the past 24 hours. This takes the total number of active cases in the state to 833, a health department bulletin said.
With this, the total number of covid-19 related deaths in the state after the recent spike in cases has touched more than 10, it said.

Heavy gunfire was reported between unidentified gunmen and police commandos in Manipur's Moreh around 3:50pm on Saturday, officials said.
According to eyewitnesses, unidentified gunmen targeted vehicles carrying police commandos when they were moving towards Key Location Point (KLP) from Moreh.

A total of 76 terrorists, including 55 foreigners, were neutralised, 291 terrorist associates arrested and 201 overground workers booked under the Public Safety Act in Jammu and Kashmir this year, Director General of Police R R Swain said on Saturday.
Swain further said that only 31 local terrorists an all time low - are left in the Union Territory.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday said he has not yet received the invitation for the consecration of Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
Thackeray also stressed he doesn't need a formal invite as Ram Lalla belongs to everyone and that he would visit the temple town in Uttar Pradesh whenever he felt like.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Saturday announced imposing prohibitory measures under CrPC section 144 on December 31 and January 1, preventing unlawful assembly of five or more people in Noida and Greater Noida.
Unauthorised processions, holding religious prayers and consumption of alcohol in public places have also been banned for Sunday and Monday.
As per the instructions, the use of private drones in a radius of one kilometre of government establishments is completely banned during the period. For the use of drones in other areas, police permission would be required, according to the order issued by the police commissionerate.
