More than one crore of Delhi's 1.45 crore electors have been provided enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while over 5.75 lakh completed forms have been digitised so far, according to official data released on Thursday. As per the status report issued on July 9, a total of 1,08,39,896 enumeration forms have been distributed, covering 74.70 per cent of the capital's 1,45,10,298 electors. The number of digitised forms stood at 5,75,478, accounting for 3.97 per cent of the total electorate. The door-to-door enumeration drive began on June 30 and will continue till July 29. Officials have said the initial priority is to ensure enumeration forms reach every eligible voter, after which collection and digitisation of completed forms will gather pace. Delhi government has renamed the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation, set up for the conservation and redevelopment of Old Delhi, as the Indraprastha Virasat Punarvikas Nigam (IVPN), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Thursday. Chairing the annual general meeting of the IVPN, Gupta directed officials to expedite the redevelopment of Chandni Chowk, improve parking facilities and build public toilets to enhance public convenience. "Development of Old Delhi should not remain confined to physical infrastructure alone. Instead, heritage conservation, tourism promotion, economic activity, civic amenities, and environmental balance should all be pursued through an integrated approach," Gupta said. With this objective, the IVPN will undertake heritage conservation alongside modern urban development, she said. One person died and four people were rescued after a four-storey building under construction collapsed in Delhi's Rohini on Wednesday, while four to five people, besides the property owner's husband, are feared trapped under the debris, police said. The deceased was identified as Ram Kishore (42), who was pulled out from the rubble and rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Those rescued included Ravi (35), a POP worker, and Saddham (32), who sustained fractures to his pelvis and arm and is undergoing treatment at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital. Police said two more persons have been rescued. More than 32 per cent of Delhi's 1.45 crore electors have been distributed enumeration forms, while just over 1 per cent of the completed forms have been digitised in the first five days of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the capital, according to official data. A total of 46,54,989 enumeration forms were distributed across the capital and 1,46,438 completed forms were digitised till Saturday, data shared by the office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) showed. The distribution covered 32.08 per cent of Delhi's 1,45,10,298 registered electors, while the digitised forms accounted for 1.01 per cent of the total electorate. Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai said the bail pleas are not even maintainable in the trial court. The judge said, "This court has no option but to follow the judgment dated January 5, 2026, as passed by the Supreme Court, whereby the petitions of both the applicants were dismissed. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is working on an eight-point development programme to transform Delhi into a sustainable and green city, with a focus on affordable housing, mobility, environment and heritage conservation, officials said on Saturday. The roadmap was discussed at a recent meeting of the DDA's advisory council chaired by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, which reviewed gaps in the demand and supply of affordable housing, the proliferation of slums and Jhuggi Jhopri clusters and their relocation and rehabilitation, besides the long-pending regularisation and redevelopment of unauthorised colonies. With geopolitical situation normalising, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday ordered rollback of a work from home (WFH) measure and staggered timings she had earlier announced for government offices. In May, Gupta had ordered work from home for two days for government offices, days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's austerity push to conserve energy keeping in mind the war in Iran. "Now that the geopolitical situation has practically normalized. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved withdrawal of Work from Home on Wednesdays and Saturday," her office said.
