Option data indicates heavy Call writing at 26,200–26,300 and strong Put support near 25,700–25,800, suggesting that the index may consolidate within this range before a fresh breakout.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: The market rose sharply in the first half on optimism over a potential India–US trade deal but surrendered most of its gains toward the close, weighed down by a sharp decline in Reliance Industries after the company announced plans to recalibrate Russian oil imports following US sanctions on crude majors Rosneft PJSC and Lukoil PJSC. The US sanctions on Russian oil majors also raised concerns that India may have to curtail purchases of discounted Russian crude and turn to costlier alternatives, potentially straining the import bill and inflation outlook. 

 

Overall, today’s mild fall from the top was driven more by technical fatigue and external factors than by any domestic weakness. The market remains fundamentally strong, backed by steady domestic and foreign  inflows, stable inflation, and optimism over India–US trade talks. Going ahead, some short-term consolidation or sideways movement is likely as traders await clarity from global data. As long as the Nifty holds above 25,800 and Bank Nifty sustains above 58,000, the broader market bias remains positive, with potential for renewed upside once volatility stabilizes.

 

The IT sector stole the limelight in today’s session, led by a sharp rally in Infosys after its promoters and promoter group chose to stay out of the ₹18,000-crore share buyback — a move widely seen as a strong vote of confidence in the company’s long-term growth prospects. Infosys shares surged nearly 4 per cent, lifting overall sentiment across the technology space. The positive momentum spilled over to other IT counters, which gained between 1–3 per cent, reaffirming renewed investor optimism toward the sector.
