Stock Market LIVE Updates: Markets in the Asia-Pacific region climbed after news that the US and China have agreed to temporarily suspend most tariffs on each other. 

The deal will see the US reduce tariffs on Chinese goods from 145 per cent to 30 per cent, while China will cut tariffs on American imports from 125 per cent to 10 per cent. 
 

In that backdrop, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index had surged 3.02 per cent, and mainland China's CSI300 was ahead by 1.72 per cent.

Japan's Nikkei 225 was higher by 0.38 per cent, and South Korea's Kospi was higher by 1.17 per cent. 

Australia's ASX 200 was higher by 0.03 per cent.
