Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty 50 extended its losing streak to a fifth straight session amidst heavy selling in IT stocks after the US imposed a $100,000 H-1B visa fee, wiping out nearly $10 billion in market value. Selling pressure was also sharp in auto and realty counters, while metals and PSU banks offered only limited support. The sharp fall in frontline stocks dragged the Nifty below the key psychological mark of 25,050, testing support at 24,850. What was once support has now turned into resistance at 25,000–25,150, keeping the near-term outlook weak. 

 

Technical charts highlight 24,850 as the immediate support, and a break below this could drag the index towards 24,600–24,500. On the upside, only a move above 25,200 would signal meaningful recovery. Options data reflects caution, with heavy call writing at 25,000–25,300 acting as a strong ceiling.
