Comment: Market's fall influenced by mixed global trend, partial profit-booking

The domestic market experienced a downturn, influenced by a mixed global trend and partial profit-booking. Although declining crude prices are beneficial for the domestic economy, they signal weakening global demand.

Additionally, India’s CPI surged driven by food prices, which will delay expected rate cuts. Furthermore, subdued corporate Q2 results are leading to a cautious stance.

Market View: If Nifty falls below 24,900, it may trigger correction towards 24,700

The Nifty remained volatile throughout the day but sustained above the 21 EMA on the daily timeframe. A fall below this level could increase weakness, with the possibility of Nifty dropping below 24,900. If Nifty falls below 24,900, it may trigger a further correction towards 24,700. On the higher side, resistance is seen at 25,200.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Godawari Power and Ispat today informed that it is developing a waste heat recovery-based power plat at its Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chattisgarh-located facility in collaboration with Siemens. 

The company, in an exhange filing, said, "We are pleased to inform you that the company is developing a waste heat recovery - based power plant at its Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh (facility), harnessing heat from the company's existing Ferro Alloys Furnaces and Pellet Plant Cooler exhausts to generate green power of 7 Mwh of clean energy aggregating approximately 50,000 Mwh annually, which will reduce C02 emissions by 45,500 tons each year."

It added that the facility is being developed by the company as a step towards decarbonisation in collaboration with Siemens, at a cost of Rs 73 crore, to be totally funded from internal accruals. 

The project is expected to be completed within a period of 18 months. 

By generating clean energy from waste heat, the company is expecting to optimise operations and set up a benchmark for the steel and ferro alloys industry, it added.

The company reported a loss before tax of Rs 14.7 crore, compared to a profit of Rs 221.7 crore it had reported in the year-ago quarter.

Provisions for NPAs for the quarter stood at Rs 598.16 crore, marginally up by 0.12 per cent from Rs 597.47 crore in the year ago period.

Meanwhile, Net profit for the quarter came in at Rs 1,327.08 crore, jumping 44.3 per cent from Rs 919.75 crore in the year ago period.
