State-owned NHPC has posted over 68 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,549.42 crore for March quarter 2025-26, supported by higher revenues. It had logged a profit of Rs 919.63 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday. Total income during the period increased to Rs 3,120.52 crore from Rs 2,557.71 crore in fourth quarter of 2024-25. Annual net profit was at Rs 4,220.46 crore as against Rs 3,411.73 crore. Total income was at Rs 12,686.09 crore as compared to Rs 11,614.61 crore earlier. The company's board also approved final dividend of 21 paise per equity share for FY26. In a separate statement, NHPC said during FY 2025-26, it added capacity of 1850 MW by commissioning 3 projects, namely Subansiri Lower Project (750 MW out of 2000), Parbati-II Project (800 MW) and Karnisar Solar Project (300 MW). State-owned hydro power giant NHPC on Thursday posted a nearly 15 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1,219.28 crore in the September quarter compared to a year ago, mainly on the back of higher revenues. The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,060.34 crore in the quarter ended on September 30, 2024, according to a regulatory filing. Total income rose to Rs 3,629.98 crore in the quarter against Rs 3,402.09 crore in the same period a year ago.
State-owned NHPC on Friday declared commercial operation of its 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan. The development comes after the successful trial run of the final phase of the 85.72 MW part capacity of the 300 MW Karnisar Solar Project in Bikaner, which was completed last Friday, NHPC said in a stock exchange filing. The company also received approval of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) on Thursday, it said. NHPC Ltd said it has declared the commercial operation of the full 300 MW capacity of the Karnisar solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan with effect from October 16.
Nineteen workers of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) were trapped inside a power house on Sunday as a landslide blocked normal and emergency tunnels of Dhauliganga Power Project in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh, officials said. Dharchula Deputy District Magistrate Jitendra Verma said that machines have been deployed to remove the debris, and the way will be cleared by evening, after which all the workers will be able to come out. The path leading to the normal and emergency tunnels of the Dhauliganga power project in Ealagarh area near Dharchula here in the district was blocked due to a landslide caused by heavy rains. He said that despite the continuous falling of debris, the work of clearing the way is underway with the help of JCB machines of the Border Roads Organisation. Verma said that all the workers are safe and they will come out after the way to the power house is opened. He also said that power generation from the power project is continuing normally.
Reliance Infrastructure on Tuesday said it has received a Letter of Award from state-owned NHPC for a 390 MW solar power Project and 780 MWhr battery energy storage system. Once commissioned, the platform will add 700 MWp of solar DC capacity and 780 MWhr of BESS capacity to Reliance Group's portfolio, consolidating its leadership in new energy solutions, a company statement said. According to the statement, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NHPC, a Navratna central public sector enterprise, for a 390 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power project coupled with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The winning tariff was discovered at Rs 3.13/kWh, positioning the project among the most competitively priced offerings in India's energy transition landscape. NHPC has posted a 3 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 1,131.16 crore for the June quarter of FY26 on account of higher income. The state-owned company had logged a net profit of Rs 1,101.63 crore in the April-June period of the preceding financial year. According to an exchange filing, the company's total income increased to Rs 3,442.76 crore from Rs 3,037.92 crore in the year-ago period. The company has commissioned the 800 MW Parbati-11 Project during the quarter ended June 30, 2025. During the current quarter, NHPC commissioned 214.28 MW out of the total 300 MW Kamisar Solar Power Project in Bikaner. NHPC, under the Ministry of Power, is India's largest hydropower development organisation, capable of undertaking all activities from conception to commissioning of hydro projects. It has also expanded into the field of solar and wind power development.
