Sun TV Network Ltd has reported a decline of 5.38 per cent in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 529.21 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025. The company had reported a PAT of Rs 559.32 crore in the April-June period a year ago, Sun TV Network, one of the largest broadcasters, said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. Its revenue from operations was down 1.77 per cent to Rs 1,290.28 crore in the June quarter. This was at Rs 1,313.55 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Sun TV Network's total expenses increased 10 per cent to Rs 782 crore in the June quarter of FY'26. However, total income of Sun TV Networks, which includes other incomes, in the June quarter was up 1.28 per cent to Rs 1,479.19 crore. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin was said to have asked DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran and his elder brother and chairman of Sun TV Network Kalanithi Maran, to amicably resolve the dispute between them over the shares of Sun TV Network. A reliable source on Thursday said the DMK president had recently asked the Maran brothers to sort out the differences in the interest of the family. There was, however, no official confirmation from the Maran brothers. The move to patch up differences between them comes a month after Dayanidhi sent a legal notice to his elder brother, his sister-in-law, and six others, objecting to the share transactions of the Sun TV Network, which took place in 2003. He alleged that Kalanidhi allotted 60 per cent of the shares of Sun TV to himself without consultation or approval' of the existing majority shareholders and in collusion with other respondents, and thus became a majority shareholder with controlling interest. Sun TV Networks Ltd on Friday reported a decline of 20 per cent in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 363.26 crore for the third quarter ended December 2024. The company had reported a PAT of Rs 454.09 crore in the October-December period a year ago, according to a BSE filing from Sun TV Network, one of the largest broadcasters. Its revenue from operations declined 10.35 per cent to Rs 827.56 crore in the December quarter. This same stood at Rs 923.15 crore in the year-ago period. Sun TV Networks' total expenses increased 10.86 per cent at Rs 500.01 crore in the december quarter of FY25. The total income of Sun TV Networks in the December quarter was Rs 967.56 crore, down 8.6 per cent. Sun TV Networks Ltd on Friday reported a decline of 5.48 per cent in its consolidated profit after tax at Rs 559.58 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024. The company had reported a PAT (profit after tax) of Rs 592.08 crore in the April-June period a year ago, according to a BSE filing from Sun TV Network, one of the largest broadcasters. Its revenue from operations was down 2.72 per cent to Rs 1,312.40 crore during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 1,349.22 crore in the year-ago period. Sun TV Networks' total expenses increased 10 per cent to Rs 709.12 crore in the June quarter of FY25. The total income of Sun TV Networks in the June quarter was marginally down to Rs 1,459.20 crore. Sun TV Networks Ltd on Friday reported a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 395.55 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company had reported a PAT of Rs 335.02 crore in the July-September period a year ago, Sun TV Network said in a BSE filing. Its revenue from operations was Rs 848.67 crore during the period. It was Rs 768.69 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Sun TV Networks total expenses were Rs 385.20 crore in Q2 of FY 2021-22. Sun TV Networks said due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the consequent lockdown has impacted the regular business operations of the group.
