Reckitt Benckiser has secured an 'ad interim injunction' from the Delhi HC against Patanjali

Consumer goods major RB (earlier Reckitt Benckiser) has secured an “ad interim injunction” from the Delhi High Court against Patanjali’s soap advertisement on television, which it said disparaged its brand Dettol.

The development comes close on the heels of a similar injunction obtained by Hindustan Unilever (HUL) against Patanjali on Monday at the Bombay High Court. The ad, while talking about Patanjali’s ayurvedic products, had disparaged HUL’s soap brands, prompting the latter to approach the court.

The Bombay High court had subsequently directed Patanjali to stop airing the advertisement till the next date of hearing on September 18. In RB’s case, too,
