Air India COO resigns

BS Reporter

In a move that could raise a big question mark on the turnaround plan of Air India, its Chief Operating Officer Gustav Baldauf resigned on Monday, days after being served a show-cause notice over his reported remarks about political interference in the airline's day-to-day affairs. Baldauf, who was served the notice on Wednesday, put in his papers Monday morning, an airline spokesperson said.

The Austrian national, who earlier worked in senior capacities in several airlines, including Jet Airways and Austrian Airlines, was, in a show-cause notice served by the airline management, asked to explain his statements that it was a difficult environment to work as the government played “too prominent a role in the airline's operations”.
