Airtel launches mEducation

For competitive exam mock tests, customers would have to pay Rs 99 for 12 mock tests while 5 full length mock papers for exams like UPSC costs Rs 49

Your mobile is going to be the most useful tool for your education.

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel today launched mEducation — a service that would enable all Airtel subscribers access all education services such as language courses, entrance exam preparation and career counseling from reputed universities and professors in the country through mobile.

“In many parts of the country, access to formal education is still restricted. Mobile platform has the potential to bridge this restriction using technology. Airtel mEducation service uses technology-enabled platforms to address the challenging issues of education with an endeavour to enrich the lives of our customers. Airtel mEducation has been designed to replicate a classroom experience for a mass market and enable learning at a convenient, accessible and affordable platform,” said K Srinivas, president- consumer business, Bharti Airtel.

 

The service is based on both voice (IVR) and SMS format, the curses offer interactive learning in the native language of the customers. Regular assessment tests also help customers to evaluate their progress. Customers can now also easily access the details of campuses and the scholarships on mobile.

For English language skill development through IVR, customers would have to pay Rs 30 for 30 days, and Rs 1.5 per day for SMSes.

For competitive exam mock tests, customers would have to pay Rs 99 for 12 mock tests while full length five mock papers for exams like UPSC, Bank PO etc costs Rs 49.
