US based Allscripts, healthcare technology provider is growing its presence in India with expanded development centres in Pune and Bangalore followed by Baroda. All three centres together will employ about 1,300 people, including nearly 300 hired since September, 2010.

According to the company, the expanded IT centres will offer round-the-clock professional services, customer support and other allied services to the Allscripts global clientele at lower cost.

On this occasion Nitin Deshpande, president, Allscripts India said ‘‘It is very heartening to note that the centres of Allscripts in India are expanding to meet the needs arising from the rapid growth of the company. The visit by the CEO Mr Glen Tullman, accompanied by two very senior executives, underscores the strategic role that the India centres play in the company’s plans. We in India Operations look forward to increasing our contribution to the company in all the functions, be it Development, Support, Services or any other back office work, to enhance client satisfaction.’’

Based in Chicago, Illinois, Allscripts connects the largest network of clients in healthcare – more than 180,000 physicians, 1,500 hospitals and 10,000 post acute care organizations across the globe, including a rapidly expanding number of health systems in Asia. The Allscripts open technology platform uniquely enables teams of healthcare providers to collaborate across communities for more coordinated care.

"Allscripts is committed to delivering a connected community of health for our clients and their patients, requiring us to attract and retain the best, brightest and most innovative people for our teams," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "Few countries provide access to as many highly trained and dedicated IT professionals as India, making this the ideal place to expand our global support and development staff as we add clients in Asia," he added.
