Alok Saxena, Joint Managing Director of Elder Pharma, has been appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
On Friday, the board has decided to promote Alok in backdrop of demise of Jagdish Saxena, chairman & MD of Elder Pharma. Alok is promoted with effect from October 11 for a period of five years.
On Thursday, Jagdish Saxena, one among the veterans in Indian pharmaceutical industry, passed away at his age of 74.
The Rs 1,230-crore Elder has largest presence in therapeutic areas of women’s healthcare, wound care and nutraceuticals. Recently, the company was in news after global major Sanofi is reportedly looking to acquire Elder's domestic formulation business.
