Anand Sankaran, senior vice president for Wipro Infotech and global infrastructure services has quit the company after having spent nearly 25 years with the information technology (IT) major.
“Wipro confirms that after a sterling career of over 24 years with Wipro, Anand Sankaran has decided to pursue a career outside of Wipro,” the Bangalore-based company said in a statement.
“Anand has played a significant role in growing these businesses and Wipro thanks Anand for his contribution and wishes him the very best in his future endeavors,” it added.
Sankaran was unavailable for comment.
Under the Sankaran's leadership, Wipro Infotech and global infrastructure services have witnessed exponential growth, and are among the fastest growing business units for the company. Sankaran had been heading Wipro's global infrastructure services since 2011, and has grown Wipro Infotech from a fledgling business unit to a Rs 7,000 crore strategic division of Wipro’s IT Business.
