He could not pay a surety of Rs 5 lakhs as all his assets have been attached by the EOW

BS Reporter Mumbai
Anjani Sinha, the former MD & CEO of NSEL, judicial custody has been extended till 9 June as he could not pay surety worth Rs five lakhs to the court since all his assets have been attached by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police.

Anjani Sinha had asked the court for a cash bail, but was refused. Anjani Sinha's wife, Shalini Sinha, has been finding it hard to finding a guarantor to give surety.

Shalini Sinha had earlier said that none of their relatives or people they know have come out to help and stand as a gurantor.

The Bombay High Court had granted bail to Sinha on 9 May. He was arrested by the Mumbai Police in October in connection with the Rs 5,600 crore NSEL scam.
