Ashok Leyland December sales down by 19%

Commercial vehicle sales dropped to 5,230 units from 7,949 units, in December 2011

Ashok Leyland has reported a 19% drop in sales in December 2012 at 7,299 units as compared to 9,048 units, a year ago. While company's light commercial vehicle posted a 88% growth, commercial vehicle sales dropped by 34 per cent.

Company's LCV product Dost, reported a sales of 2,069 units as compared to 1,099 units a year ago. Commercial vehicle sales dropped to 5,230 units from 7,949 units, in December 2011.

April to December 2012 sales rose to 79,990 units from 66,321 units, an increase of around 21%. Commercial vehicle sales dropped by 12%. LCV sales stood at 23,898 units as compared to 2,700 units.
