Ahmedabad-based woven sack bags and fabrics maker, Atlantis Products Pvt Ltd - a subsidiary of Rajiv group of companies, will expand its manufacturing capacity from the current 6,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) to 8,000-9,000 TPA to step up the company's export operations.
The capacity expansion will increase the share of exports in the company's total sales to around 50 per cent.
Currently, the company exports nearly 43 per cent of the total production of the woven sack bags and fabrics.
"There is huge potential for woven sack bags in the overseas markets. Our key export destinations are US, Europe and African countries. After the capacity expansion, we will be able to increase our export operations as well as further penetrate in the domestic market," said Rajiv Vastupal, Chairman, Rajiv Group of companies.
Atlantis Products is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Rajiv Group. The expansion will involve an investment of around Rs 5 crore, which will be met through internal accruals.
