Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd, a diversified public sector enterprise, posted a 19.7 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 28.92 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2009 over last year. The net income for the quarter dipped by 0.92 per cent to Rs 429 crore compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
South Asian Petrochem PAT up 119%
South Asian Petrochem Ltd(SAPL) has recorded a year-on-year rise of 119 per cent in profit after tax to Rs 25.23 crore in the quarter ended June 30 on the back of foreign exchange gains of Rs 11.64 crore as against a forex loss of Rs 11.33 crore.
SAPL's net sales, however, dipped by 7.8 per cent to Rs 273.51 crore.
