Bank of America Corporation (BofA) today appointed Mukesh Ambani as a director on its board.
Ambani, who is the chairman and managing director of India's largest private company Reliance Industries, will stand for election at the 2011 BofA annual meeting of shareholders.
"BofA's shareholders will benefit from the global perspective Ambani brings to our board," said Charles O Holliday, chairman of the bank.
"I am delighted to join the board of BofA," said Ambani. "It is a privilege and a great honour for me, as the first non-American citizen to join the board of one of the world's largest financial institutions. I look forward to contributing to the growth and progress of BofA."
