BenQ eyes doubling projector biz in Gujarat

With technology adoption growing rapidly among education institutes in Gujarat, leading display product brand BenQ is looking to double its projector business in the state. While it sold around 2,000 projectors in the education sector in 2011, it is now planning to sell over 4,000 units in 2012.

"Overall we plan to enhance our projector sales to 6,000 units of which over 4,000 units will be in the education sector. More than 25 per cent of our business comes from the education sector. Add to that, technology adoption among schools and other education institutes in Gujarat is growing rapidly and we intend to cash in on the same," said Rajeev Singh, country head and GM, BenQ India. BenQ offers display products like projectors, LED / LCD monitors, digital cameras and LCD TVs. In the education sector in Gujarat, the company works among schools and institutes.
