Bosch Rexroth inaugurates Sanand plant

New facility would manufacture hydraulics components and systems at the site

Bosch Rexroth (India) Ltd, subsidiary of German automation giant Bosch Group, on Thursday inaugurated its new facility in Sanand that has come up with an investment of around Rs 280 crore. The new facility would manufacture hydraulics components and systems at the site.

Bosch Rexroth already had a manufacturing facility at Vatva near Ahmedabad, which started operations way back in 1976. The site makes hydraulic valves, pumps, blocks, cylinders and power units in Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

It caters to the machine tools, food and packaging, plastic processing, pulp and paper, printing technology,mining, metallurgy, naval technology, textiles, solar, wind energy sectors among others and employs around 550 people. The entire operations of the Vatva facility will be moved to the new plant at Sanand together with the manpower.
 

As Johannes T Grobe, managing director of Bosch Rexroth said, "We started the new plant replacing the old facility not only to expand production capacity, focus more on the services business as well as expand our product line through the technology center. Going beyond production, we have developed the Sanand plant more and more into a technology center."
