Bengaluru-based women and childcare hospital chain, Cloudnine Hospital, is planning to invest around Rs 200 crore in the next two years for setting up around 10 hospitals in the southern and western parts of the country. Venture capital fund, Sequoia Capital, has recently invested in the hospital chain.
As part of this, Cloudnine, which has five facilities in Bangalore, is planning to enter into Tamil Nadu with its first hospital in Chennai. "It is expected to be launched in January next year," said Kishore Kumar, chairman and managing director, Cloudnine Hospital.
These new centres would typically have around 40-50 bed facilities, though the facility which is coming up in a leased property, has around 60 beds. "It is one of the largest facility we are launching," said Kumar.
