Healthcare products company Covidien has formally entered the Indian healthcare market by establishing its headquarters at Gurgaon. The company will also introduce some of its patented products in India. In India, the $10 billion company operates in four segments, namely surgical equipment, energy-based equipment, respiratory systems and patientcare products and plans to introduce more products in these segments.
Covidien, that has 41,000 employees globally, will collaborate with healthcare providers in the Indian subcontinent. Earlier known as Tyco Healthcare headquartered in Chennai, Covidien will setup three ‘dry labs’ this year to initiate training programmes for medical practitioners in the country.
