The commitment of Boeing and Dynamatic to 'Make in India' was highlighted by Modi during his inaugural address at Aero India 2015

The day Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the collaboration between US aerospace major Boeing and Bengaluru-based Dynamatics' that meets the demands of his pet project 'Make in India', Boeing announced that the tie-up has already begun to bear fruit. Dynamatic Technologies Ltd, the $265-million company that designs and builds products for automotive, aerospace, hydraulic and security applications at its design, engineering and manufacturing facilities in Europe and India, has manufactured some parts of Boeing's CH-47F Chinook helicopter. Dynamatics has produced the first set of aft pylon and cargo ramp assemblies for Boeing’s CH-47F Chinook helicopter.

Aft pylon is the structure on which the helicopter blades are set. "In September 2014, Dynamatic Technologies and its collaborator Boeing inaugurated a plant in India to manufacture critical parts for a Boeing helicopter that is sold globally,” the prime minister said. “I understand that the plant was set up a day after 'Make in India' was launched. I am pleased to learn that the first set of parts is ready.” Speaking to Business Standard at Aero India on Wednesday, Prat Kumar, president of Boeing India, said, “We are scaling-up with our supply-chain partners in India.” Beoing claimed that it has been adding more and more Indian to the supply chain. "Our participation will continue to accelerate with support from government and our industry partners,” Kumar added. The commitment of Boeing and Dynamatic to ‘Make in India’ was highlighted by Modi during his inaugural address at Aero India 2015 in Bengaluru. “The production of major aerostructures for Boeing’s CH-47F helicopter is a major accomplishment and is a significant milestone for the Indian aerospace industry,” stated Udayant Malhoutra, chief executive officer and managing director, Dynamatic Technologies Ltd. Dynamatics' relationship with Boeing began in 2010 with the award of a contract to supply mission and power equipment cabinets for P-8I maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. In 2013, Boeing had placed its first CH-47 Chinook helicopter contract in India with Dynamatic for aft-pylon and cargo ramp assemblies. Currently, Boeing has forging contracts with suppliers in Asia, Europe, Russia and North America and will continue to add new sources of forgings around the world.
