Satyam's employees told Business Standard how it would feel not to be associated with anything Satyam. While almost 10,000 of Satyam's employees left soon after the scam broke, others stayed on.
"We had a feeling Tech Mahindra would retain the Satyam brand, given the scale of the clientele base and the reputation it has globally. We didn't expect this sudden change of the name. Nevertheless, we don't have any apprehensions as Satyam/Mahindra Satyam has always been the brand we (Satyamites and clients) had been associated with servicing our clients."
An employee who has been with the Hyderabad-based company for the past nine years and did not wish to be identified
"We thought we would be given pink slips because of the ongoing legal issues related to the merger process. Despite the change of the brand name, which actually gives more value to what we do, we are here to stay. The change of management or the change of the brand name has had no impact on us."
Sri Ganesh, involved in product marketing
"It is business as usual for us. Moreover, our clients are keeping more confindence on us as they feel that now we are in more safe hands."
