Home appliances maker Eureka Forbes today said 'Harvard Business Review' has featured it as one of the six most successful sales and marketing companies in the world.

Eureka Forbes, which was earlier a joint venture between the Forbes Group and Electrolux of Sweden, started the concept of door-to-door sales in the country for its eponymous vacuum cleaners in 1982.

Besides Eureka Forbes, the cover story of the magazine 'The Secret to Smarter Sales' features IT major IBM, auto giant Ford Motors, retail major Wal-Mart, US-based brewer Boston Beer and global drug major Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

Part of the construction major Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Eureka Forbes boasts of a growth story from a single office in Mumbai with 20 sales representatives to a $302-million organisation with presence in 550 cities and towns today.

Over the years, the company has diversified and launched its solar products division EuroDiya and packaged water AquaSure.

The direct marketing firm claims to have the largest sales force in Asia with 8,000 people on its rolls to cater to its 1.25-million potential customers.
