Vulkan Technologies, wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany-based Hackforth Holding has set up a new facility at Pirangut near Pune.

The company is engaged in the manufacturing couplings required in various industrial applications, especially in generators, compressors, ship and marine applications. It also manufactures lokrings used in refrigeration apart from having a rubber plant and a steel & aluminum foundry.

The company has invested Rs 45 crore for this facility. Sebastian Hackforth Managing Partner, Hackforth Holding said, "Pune was a natural choice for expansion since we already had a strong, operational manufacturing base here. Availability of resources, good industrial base around and strong presence of German companies in and around Pune were also some reasons for our capacity expansion. We have invested about Rs 45 crore in this new plant."

The installed manufacturing capacity of the Lokring unit is 110 lakh pieces per month, the machine shop can process 105 metric tons, whereas the rubber unit can process 30 metric tons per month.
