Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) today announced net loss for the third quarter ended December, 2011 at Rs 130 crore. The net loss narrowed down from Rs 405 crore in the previous quarter.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 79 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Total income was posted at Rs 946 crore, down 6% from Rs 1,008.6 crore in the same quarter last year.
The company's exceptional provisons stood at Rs 160 crore due to the expected losses.
During the period, the Interest cost was up 39% at Rs 104 crore as compared to Rs 74.6 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Post results, the shares were trading up 3% up 22.40 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
