Heildelberg Cement India today reported 80.75% dip in net profit for the January-March quarter at Rs 2.2 crore on higher input freight costs.
The company had reported Rs 11.43 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
Total income of the company, however, rose to Rs 370.43 crore compared to Rs 287.69 crore in the year ago period. Expenses too went up to Rs 349.98 crore on higher outgo of raw material and freights.

Heidelberg Cement India consumed raw material worth Rs 105.35 crore during the reporting period compared to Rs 85.41 crore a year ago. Cost on freight also increased to Rs 59 crore from Rs 43.90 crore a year ago.
Shares of the company settled at Rs 38.75 apiece, down 1.15% at the BSE.
